Hey what’s up everyone?! Thanks for coming back and checking out my site.

I really do appreciate all of the readers and viewers coming back and checking out my content. I really hope you guys are getting actionable information that you can use on your own blogs.

In this post, I am going to share with you 10 Easy Tricks on How to Come up With Blog Topics.

I know for myself at times, I hit a total roadblock when I’m brainstorming topics to write about. You can sit at your desk for a long period of time and not making any progress.

This leads to lower productivity levels and to put it quite frankly you’re wasting valuable time which could be used in creating valuable content for your audience.

But don’t worry, I’m going to give you 10 smashing ways to come up with Blog topics so your brain doesn’t explode trying to think of things to come up with.

So let’s get started;

Look for Questions in the Comment Section

If you read other blogs regularly as I do, you will notice in the comment sections that people will ask questions. And if you notice that the same question is being asked over and over again between multiple blogs, thats a good opportunity to write them down and transform them into topics for your next blog posts. Make sure the article you write is full of juicy content and that will leave your readers coming back for more.

“Reframe” Other Bloggers Topics

If you see a post from another blogger that’s doing well, has tons of engagement, and lots of shares, you can take that same post and reframe it. What I mean by “reframe” is to put your own spin on it and change it up to make it yours.

So for example, if you’re a baking blogger and you see a fellow blogger in your niche wrote a post that’s called “7 Chocolate Chip Recipes”, you can build upon that with a post that’s called “15 Extremely Easy Chocolate Chip Recipes Everyone Will Enjoy”. What you’re doing here is adding more recipes, and signaling out to your reader that they are easy to make that everyone will like. You can believe this post will be a hit.

(Do Not Copy word-for-word or Plagiarize whatsoever. That is wrong and borderline illegal.)

Use Google Search Suggestions

Using Google Search Suggestions is an awesome tool to use to come up with topics.

Here’s an example. If you are in the Yoga Niche, type in the phrase “yoga poses”

As you can see there a plethora of topics you can write about that people will be interested in reading. And how do we know your audience will be interested in reading about these topics?

Because they were immediately suggested in Google Search! This means that people are typing in these topics all the time and looking for answers. You can capitalize on these topics, give your readers immense value, and never run out of topics to write about for your blog.

Use Google’s Related Search Terms

Remember the example I showed you above? When you type a term into Google’s Search box and press enter it will give you the top ranking websites. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see related search terms. Bam! Here’s more blog topics you can write about.

Create a Rant Post!

Is there something you want to get off your chest about a certain topic in your industry?

Well create a rant post! In this type of post you vent and blow off steam about a certain topic that’s been bothering you. Be real, be honest, be you.

It’s perfectly fine to create these types of posts and the best thing about it your audience will resonate with you and respect you more. Get it off your chest with words on the screen. Just be mindful not to make too many of these posts. You don’t want to come off as a whiner and a complainer.

Create Product Reviews

If there is a product you use on a regular basis and you truly believe in it, you should consider writing a product review article. People that are searching for information on a certain product want to hear what the average person thinks of it, not the marketing hype from the company who made it.

When you create a product review post, educate your readers on the product, be thorough, give details, pros and cons, and most importantly believe in the product. Nothing can hurt your reputation more than lying or being dishonest about a crappy product. It will come back and bite you in the rear end big time.

Use Pinterests’s Search Feature

Pinterest is another goldmine for searching for blog topic ideas. Just go to the search bar, type in a keyword, and you will see hundreds of pins relating to the keyword you inputted.

In the image above I used the keyword “yoga”. Immediately I see pins that someone in the Yoga Niche can base their blog posts around.

Say for example you are a yoga blogger for women you can write these posts;

  • 7 Best Yoga Exercises for Newbies that are Women
  • 9 Simple Yoga Poses for Women
  • 30 Minute Yoga Workout for Advanced Yogies

And so on, and so on.. Use Pinterest as a source for new blog topics. You won’t regret it!

Survey Your Audience

You should really ask your readers what topics they want to hear about from you. Your audience are the ones that will drive the direction of the blog and you should include them in your decision-making process.

You can survey your audience on your social media channels by simply asking them what would they like you to write about next. If you have a few ideas in mind you can post a poll on your social media or send the poll to your readers. These are the most common ways I see blog influencers survey their audience and you should do the same.

Tell “Your” Story

If you really want to connect and resonate with your audience you should consider telling your story. Your audience wants to feel more connected to you and if you share your story with them, you will gain their trust.

By sharing your struggles, obstacles, failures, and successes, your readers will be assured that you are a normal human being, just like them.

Repurpose Older Blog Posts

You are more than allowed to repurpose old blog posts. For example, let’s say you are in the fashion niche and you wrote a post a year ago titled “The Top 5 Fashion Trends of Summer 2019”, you can repurpose & update it to the current year “The Top 5 Fashion Trends of Summer 2020”. Things are constantly changing and your audience will appreciate you keeping up to date on the changing trends.

Interview Another Blogger

Is there another Blogger in your field that you respect and enjoy their content? Well if you enjoy their content, your audience will too.

Consider getting in touch and interviewing another blogger. By doing this, you can bounce ideas off each other, learn something new, your audience will get immense value from, send traffic to each other, and best of all you don’t have to endure the headache of coming up with something new to write about.

Use Google Trends

Google Trends is another quick way to come up with blog topics.

I’m going to use the term “how to lose weight”

After I press enter and scroll down to the bottom, you will see related queries people are searching for that is related to “how to lose weight” Boom! There’s another batch of topics you can write about.

To sum it up, coming up with blog topics doesn’t have to be hard work.
